What is Overactivity in Children?
It is quite natural for children to be energetic, lively, and mischievous and to have enquiring minds. Some children on the other hand can be loud, demanding, have difficulty sitting still, fidget constantly and always seek attention. Often this type of behavior is described as "hyper" or overactive. What Causes Overactivity in Children?
Children in kindergarten and between the ages of 5 and 6 years generally are a bundle of energy and cannot sit still for too long. If this behavior still continues by the age of 8, it is considered developmentally inappropriate. Usually overactive behavior is not a cause for major concern and it may also just be a behavioral problem.
