Attention Deficit Disorder manifests itself in many ways. Thos who are diagnosed early in life have the added advantage of trying out various therapies before the condition becomes more pronounced and complicated.

People can experiment with naturopathy, massage therapy, homeopathy and herbal remedies for ADD before deciding the one that suits them the best. ADD treatment need not only involve strong medications with side effects. And if you can zero on to the herbal options that suit your specific body, there is much to gain.

There are many herbalists today that can help in deciding the child ADHD treatment that you should opt for. Even though the herbal treatments have not been scientifically tested out in the modern format in laboratories, there is ample empirical evidence that they are effective.

Among the many that are available is Roman chamomile, Kava kava, Valerian, Lemon balm and Passion flower. These herbs are available in the market but should be administered under the guidance of a trained herbalist who can prescribe a specific dosage apt for your age and condition. Also deciding on the calming herbs can lead to a situation where the results are not as desired causing you to loose faith in the power of herbs to cure.

Other herbs that are also used in ADD treatment are Pycnogenol, Gingko and American ginseng. Pycnogenol is a bioflavonoid antioxidant extracted from pine bark and can be used for ADD treatment. Gingko has been used in Europe and has helped in circulatory and memory disorders and in combination with American ginseng can significantly improve symptoms of ADD.

Initial research done on the Chinese technique Qi Gong shows that performing the breathing exercise weekly can improve attention and concentration. It also reduces aggression and temper tantrums to a large extent.

You may have decided to go in for traditional medication for ADD treatment but before doing so, it may be worth your while to give these herbal remedies a try. At least they are sure not to cause any side effects if taken under the guidance of a trained professional. And if they do suit your body systems, then you can be saved of a lot of side effects that you may have had to face otherwise.
