Bloody stools often occur as a result of something that does not agree with your dog or cat’s stomach such as spoiled food, table scraps, garbage or road kill. Allergies to certain foods, a change in regular diet, ingesting poisons and toxins or a reaction to drugs may also cause blood-tinged stools.
Other causes of bloody stools include digestive related disorders such as diarrhea, colitis, inflammatory bowel disorder (IBD), stomach ulcer, pancreatitis as well as intestinal parasites.
