Cushing’s disease & adrenal gland health

The adrenal glands are two small, triangular-shaped endocrine glands located on top of the kidneys. They are orange in color and covered in a connective tissue capsule that is hidden in a layer of fat. These glands are made up of two parts – the adrenal cortex (outside) and the adrenal medulla (inside). The adrenal glands work together with the pituitary gland and hypothalamus in the brain for the overall health and functioning of your dog.

Cushing's disease, also known as hyperadrenocorticism, is characterized by the over-production of hormones from the adrenal glands, in particular when the pituitary gland releases too much adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH).  High levels of these hormones in your pet’s body can cause varied and serious symptoms.  Over time, if not well-controlled, Cushing’s can increase your pet's risk of other conditions, including weakening of the heart and nervous system.

Therefore, the health of the adrenal glands is vital to systemic functioning, and adrenal balance and harmony plays a crucial role in wellness on every level.

The natural way

Herbal and homeopathic remedies can play an important role in supporting the health and balance of your dog's adrenal glands, and a holistic approach is the best way to contribute to your pet's general health. Due to the vital importance of adrenal balance, it is not surprising that natural remedies have the answers! After all, organ and systemic support are the cornerstones of a holistic approach! By supporting adrenal health, the natural approach aims to facilitate well-being across a number of body systems, thereby encouraging wellness and vitality every day!

Cushex Drops is a herbal remedy based on a holistic approach to health, helping to promote adrenal health and function, and reduce symptoms. It can make all the difference without the risk of serious side effects.

What are the Ingredients?

CushexDrops is a 100% herbal formula and contains the following ingredients: Dandelion, Burdock, Astragalus, Arsenicum album (30C), Hepar sulphuris calcareum (30C), Mercuris solubilis (30C), Sulphur (30C).

  • Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) is well-known as a supporter for the liver, kidneys and adrenal glands and will help to support normal adrenal functioning. Dandelion also contains vitamins and minerals important for hair health and growth and has been studied for its antioxidant activities (Hu, C. and Kitts, D. D. “Antioxidant, prooxidant, and cytotoxic activities of solvent-fractionated dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) flower extracts in vitro” J Agric.Food Chem. 1-1-2003;51(1):301-310.)
  • Burdock (Arctium lappa) is a cleansing and eliminating herb and is excellent at cleansing the tissues and supporting waste removal from the body. (Shimizu, J., Yamada, N., Nakamura, K., Takita, T., and Innami, S. “Effects of different types of dietary fiber preparations isolated from bamboo shoots, edible burdock, apple and corn on fecal steroid profiles of rats.” J Nutr Sci Vitaminol.(Tokyo) 1996;42(6):527-539.) Burdock is also traditionally recommended for maintaining blood sugar levels already within the normal range and has been investigated for its ability to support health.
  • Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceous) is an herb which has been used for many centuries as a revitalizing herb. Astragalus is known as an adaptogen and helps to support balance in the adrenal glands. It helps to maintain healthy adrenal cortical function and is important for supporting blood pressure and blood sugar levels already within the normal range. Recent research confirms the positive effect of Astragalus in supporting the immune system.
  • Arsenicum album (30C) is a natural ingredient with a wide range of uses, including the maintenance of digestive health and balanced body fluid. Arsenicum supports the urinary tract and thirst levels within healthy ranges.
  • Hepar sulphuris calcareum (30C) is also a natural ingredient and is often recommended when skin health and integrity are the goals.
  • Mercuris solubilis (30C) is an excellent remedy that is often recommended to soothe common nervous tension and to maintain normal thirst functions.
  • Sulphur (30C) will help to support a healthy skin condition and for digestive support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cushex Drops I have a Boston Terrier who has been afflicted with Cushings Disease as well as a non functioning thyroid. We thought she was fat and come to find out Cushings symptoms are of a pot belly, big and round. How she hasn't died baffles both of us. Bojangles is my friend my honeybear my angel and my service dog. There has been only one veterinarian that has been willing to treat her. He said if we gave her medicine for the Cushings she would die within a year. Then I went online and researched this website and not only do they have a product that can help her but also another that will help with the mucous in her throat from being heavy from the Cushings. I highly recommend this website and as I speak Bojangles is turning into a puppy overnight. She is 9. I figured this would be a try and it has been one of the best for her. So try it and see it helped us. January 8, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Gave Bucky another year. Thank you so much for the Cushex Drops! My dog was 13 years old when I began giving him the Cushex drops. The vet had a hard time figuring out what the problem was with Bucky. He wanted to do some expensive tests but I felt that it was silly to spend a bunch of money on a large breed dog of that age. So I never had him tested but I found your site after looking into his symptoms. He urinated all the time, drank a lot of water and panted constantly. He ended up banished to the kitchen every night because he made so much noise panting and pacing. He was also making a mess twice a day. I figured it could not hurt him to try the Cushex Drops. And sure enough, after the very first dose he stopped panting and pacing and had an accident only every so often. Each bottle lasted a long time. These drops gave us our dog for one more year. Sadly, he pasted away at 14 a few weeks ago. But I am comforted in knowing that he was comfortable in his last year and lived a long life for a lab mix. July 24, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by my dog would be dead without this 3-4 days without this and I have a very ill dog and a very high vet bill. July 20, 2011

Rated 3 out of 5 by This product is easy to use. I've only been using it about two weeks. It's easy to use, but not too much difference yet. March 15, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by hard for me to tell I am using this along with a prescription from the vet based on blood work. Patches is acting a lot better and we have been able to clear up the skin issues she was having. Patches is 10 years old and was very over weight due to the crushing. She is back to a good weight and coat is a lot better and she is just being a spoiled brat. December 6, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not sure if it is helping?? We have used now almost 2 bottles of the Cushex. Our dog is almost 9 lab/pit mix. He had started to have accidents in the house in spring, thinking it was a uti and wasn't , blood test showed that it was going to most likely be cushings disease. After knowing what the cost of treatment was going to be I decided to go this route. He has gained a lot of weight, and has terrible gas. I am not quite sure it is helping but we are continuing to try. He drinks an excessive amount of water, and does continue to urinate a lot. He is kept outside during the day now because of the number of accidents in the house. There are some nights that he still needs to go out in the middle of the night. September 30, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by waiting to see Well my 12 year old beagle was tested with cushings at the vet, The only symptoms I noticed was drinking alot of water and urinating in the house which he has never done. I decided to try the cushex drops first due to severe side effects of traditional meds. So far really no improvement but only been giving 5 drops 2 times a day so far. Think im going to bump up to 3 times a day. I will give it the 6 weeks and keep cleaning carpets for now before I think of anything else. HE sure doesnt mind eating the stuff right up and is alittle more active since he has been on the drops so will keep my fingers crossed it just takes time. November 4, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Did not work for my dog, product is easy to use. It unfortunately did not improve my dogs condition. For us it did not work. The product is easy to use and my dog had no issues taking it. July 1, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by No difference Honestly after using this product for a month, I have not seen any difference with my dog. I was really hoping that I would. April 26, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by not sure Brodie's hair continues to come out in patches, he's not eating so much so perhaps his pot belly is going down a bit, he still drinks a lot, I don't know what the possibilities of this product were so I can't say good bad or indifferent. April 9, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by It must have been too late for my dog. We used Cushex for our dog but she must have been too far gone. We used the product for more than a month and it did help a little but she just couldn't overcome the disease and we had to put her to sleep. Wish we could have known sooner about this medication. Maybe it could have saved her life. February 21, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by still hoping Well my 12 year beagle is just finishing his 2nd bottle of cushex drops. Coat is better but water consumption and urination have not changed at all. He is still having accidents in the house. I have been giving him 8 drops 2 times a day so far. Keeping my fingers crossed he will still come around but not looking good so far after a few months on the drops. February 11, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by wiling to try natural approach vs harsh meds ordered this product about a month ago. I have a 9 year old female min schnauzer with symptoms of cushings and blood work has indicators for it as well. She likes the taste of it and I give her 3 drops at least twice a day. I have noticed less panting and water consumption. will update in a month or so January 18, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing..... My dog refuses to eat food sprinkled with these drops.....a poor value if I have to force her to take the drops. March 24, 2011

How has Cushex Drops helped others?

Cushex Drops has been used to help relieve symptoms of Cushings's disease. Here is what some pet owners have to say:

“We call Cushex Drops a miracle.  Pearl (12 year old Fox Terrier) looked like she would die soon, not only did she have every symptom of Cushing’s, she had the symptoms to the extreme.  After 2 weeks we began to see improvement, less hunger, thirst and urination. We’ve used the drops consistently for 1 1/2 months and Pearl looks and acts like a new dog.  Her hair has already grown back and it's soft instead of bristly.  We can't say enough about this product.”

-Dan and Rudi, CO, USA

“My dog was on prednisone for about 4 months due to severe inflammation in her jaw muscles.  I was very concerned about giving her the steroids but the vet assured me there was no other choice.  After the treatment she was not doing very well.  The jaw pain was gone but she had gained a lot of weight and her fur was coming out in clumps.  She was also having problems with digestion and going to the bathroom.  A different vet told me her symptoms were mild and she did not have Cushing’s Disease but that the prednisone had taken a toll on her adrenal system.  I searched for some natural remedies to help stimulate her system and found the Cushex Drops. After only 2 weeks of giving her the drops she began to improve dramatically.  Her coat came back, she lost the extra weight and her tummy troubles improved.  Thank goodness for the drops!  She is back to her normal self!”

-Judy, British Columbia, Canada

“Thank you for such a wonderful remedy. My poor dog’s health was in a state due to Cushing’s and this natural product really helped.  I am so pleased that her coat is looking healthier and her hair has stopped falling out everywhere. I’m also relieved that we have managed to avoid surgery as Kendra is an old dog now and I would hate to put her life at risk.”

-Carryn J.

“My 14 year old Maltese was diagnosed with Cushing’s after months of urinating in the house for no apparent reason - something he never used to do. We were not keen on the vet’s recommendations for treatment as they all sounded terribly harsh and downright dangerous so we tried your Cushex Drops and are very impressed. It is wonderful to find something all-natural and safe that actually works! I have told my vet about your product and how well it works - he can see the difference in our Maltese as well and says that he is going to recommend your product as an alternative treatment to Cushing’s in his practice!”

“My 10 year old Shih Tzu was diagnosed with Pituitary Cushing's. Given his age and other factors, I decided to treat the Cushing's holistically and homeopathically and found Cushex Drops.  After two months on Cushex, Bandit's pot belly is smaller, his hair has stopped falling out, his body temperature is more regulated, and his desperate thirst has leveled off. Thank you for providing a viable alternative to Lysodren and other standard treatments!”
