The natural way
The best way to prevent problem spots on the skin from forming is to keep your pet on a steady flea control program. Flea bites irritate the skin, often causing dogs and cats to scratch and bite at the afflicted area until an itchy problem spot appears. Additionally, it is important to keep your pet well groomed by regularly bathing and brushing him and clipping his hair short, especially during the warmer months. On a day-to-day basis, make sure your pet’s coat stays clean and dry, as this should also prevent any irritation.
Depending on how severe the problem is, an Elizabethan collar may be placed around your pet’s neck to discourage him from scratching at the tender area.
Natural remedies are safe, gentle, and have been used for hundreds of years to temporarily help relieve itchy problem spots, maintaining skin and systemic health without the risk of side effects.
