Enjoy the outdoors again – without worry and chemicals
DEET is the most common active ingredient in conventional, over-the-counter insect repellents. While effective, manufactures caution and recommend strict guidelines for its use, as it has been found to act as a skin irritant, causing severe epidermal reactions in some people and even leading to DEET toxicity in rare cases.
However, the risk of diseases transmitted by insects often warrants the need for some form of protection when spending time outdoors. Insect Defense is a safe, natural, DEET-free insect repellent that utilizes six natural-repelling oils, especially formulated and allergy tested safe for sensitive skin, offering 100% protection for up to two hours.
The natural way
Proper clothing is one of the best defenses against disease-carrying insects. A wide, brimmed hat can help protect the head and back of the neck. When wearing pants, it is recommended to tuck pants into socks and make sure that the wrists and ankles are covered. Stick to light-colored clothing, which is less attractive to insects. Use protective netting around sleeping or eating areas when camping to further discourage insects.
