What is Gotu kola?
Gotu kola is a perennial plant that is a native to a number of countries, including but not limited to India, Iran, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Africa, Northern Australia, China, and Indonesia. This herb is a member of the parsley family and is not related to the kola nut (although it has a similar name) which contains caffeine. Gotu kola has a long history of medicinal use in Ayurvedic medicine, traditional African medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine.
Medicinal Uses of Gotu kola
While Gotu kola has a number of medicinal uses, it is traditionally used as a powerful circulatory tonic to provide support for a healthy brain and nervous system.
